The weather this past weekend was crazy warm– as in 60 degree weather! We went for a family walk and I asked Ryan if he wanted to hold my hand. He shook his head “no” and said “sis!” Little man wanted to walk next to his big sister (cue my mama heart melting into a puddle!).
Oh, how I love you both! I’m holding these moments close to my heart, especially since I’m increasingly feeling like a referee on most days. My loves are learning so many lessons on sharing, managing their frustrations, and negotiating conflicts. There’s usually some variation of Liv taking something out of Ryan’s hand or Ryan pulling Liv’s hair… all with a healthy dose of tears, dramatic pouting, a few screams, and some kicking the floor thrown in for good measure! Growing up as an only child, it’s fascinating to watch their sibling bond grow. I loved reading through this article, including the linked TIME piece on brother/sister relationships. One of my greatest wishes is for them to always be able to count on each other.
